Gastric ring cell carcinoma metastasis to the breast: Two case reports

چکیده
Metastatic tumors of breast are rare and account only for approximately 2% of all malignant breast cancers. Breast metastasis of stomach’s signet ring cell carcinoma (SRCC) is also a very rare condition. Herein, we report two rare cases of gastric SRCC metastasis to the breast. First case is a 63-year-old female patient who was admitted to our clinic with swelling in the left breast and arm with enlarged left axillary lymphadenopathy. She was diagnosed with gastric SRCC a year ago. Second case is a 65-year-old woman diagnosed with gastric SRCC who had undergone total gastrectomy two years ago, and had one-year history of operation for kruckenberg’s tumor. This patient was admitted to our clinic with two months history of pain and swelling in the left breast. She was also diagnosed as a gastric SRCC metastasis. [Turk J Cancer

Metastatic Signet-Ring Cell Gastric Carcinoma Masquerading as Breast Primary
Metastasis to the breast from an extra-mammary primary is a rare phenomenon; metastasis from gastric carcinoma to the breast is extremely so. We report a case who initially presented as mucin-secreting and signet-ring cell tumor of the ovary, and after an interval of 8 months with breast and chest wall metastatic nodules. The covert gastric primary eluded the oncologists at both presentations.

Introduction: Metastatic lesions of the oral cavity are extremely rare, accounting for approximately 1% of all malignant oral tumors. The most common primary sources of metastatic tumors in the oral region are, from the most to the least common, the breast, lung, kidney, bone, and colon. Renal cell carcinoma accounts for nearly 3% of all adult malignancies. It usually metastasizes to the lungs,...
متن کاملBreast metastases of gastric signet-ring cell carcinoma: a report of two cases and review of the literature
It is occasionally difficult to diagnose breast metastasis of gastric carcinoma because of its rarity. However, to appropriately treat patients with breast tumors without delay, it is important to distinguish metastatic cancer from primary breast cancer. We report two cases of breast metastasis of gastric carcinoma and review the literature. The first case was a 41-year-old female diagnosed wit...
متن کاملGastric metastasis of mammary signet ring cell carcinoma--a differential diagnosis with primary gastric signet ring cell carcinoma.
Metastasis of breast carcinoma to the stomach is relatively uncommon, although metastasis to other organs such as lung, bone, and lymph nodes is not rare. It may cause difficulty in differentiating from primary gastric carcinoma. We report a case of signet ring cell carcinoma of the breast with metastasis to the stomach with illustrations of histologic findings of both lesions. The results of i...

Metastatic tumors in the breast are quite rare and constitute 0,5 to 6% of all breast malignancies. They often occur in a polymetastatic context. Gastrointestinal lesions rarely metastasize to the breast. The first case of a metastasis deposit to the breast and ovary from gastric signet-ring cell carcinoma was reported in the literature in 1999. Since this report, only 5 cases have been reporte...
